Zoom-ready. 2048×2048 gives themes enough detail for zoom and large product pages, while staying far below Shopify’s upload limit of 20 MB and 25 megapixels.

Speed matters. Shopify serves resized versions automatically, but starting from a clean, correctly sized JPG keeps the original light. Use compress JPG if a photo is unusually large.
