Resize Image to 112×112
112×112 is the 4× Twitch emote size — the one shown on sharp phone and laptop screens, and the master that the smaller sizes are made from. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Need a smaller file instead? Compress or convert.
Drag the preview to choose which part of the image is kept. The same framing is used for every image in the batch.
Why choose 112×112?
112×112 gives a square canvas with a 1:1 ratio and 0.01 MP of detail. People most often need it for avatars, icons and thumbnails.
1:1 square shape
The square (1:1) proportion decides how your photo is framed: plan the subject around that shape before you crop.
Where it is used
112×112 suits avatars, icons and thumbnails. Using the exact size avoids a website scaling or cropping your image on its own.
Prints 0.37×0.37 in at 300 DPI
That is 0.9×0.9 cm at photo quality, or 0.7×0.7 in at 150 DPI for posters viewed from a distance.
About 2 KB–4 KB as JPG
Expect around 2 KB–4 KB for a JPG photo at this size. Simple graphics are smaller, PNG photos several times larger.
Sharp results
A 12 MP phone photo has 972× more pixels than 112×112, so resizing down keeps it sharp.
Framing control
Filling 112×112 from a 4:3 phone photo trims about 25% of it. Drag the preview to choose what stays, or tick “Keep aspect ratio” to keep it all.

The 112-pixel master emote
Start bigger, finish here. Draw emotes on a larger canvas — 500 or 1000 pixels — then resize to 112×112. Resizing down keeps edges clean; enlarging a small drawing makes it soft.
Twitch's limits. Emote files must be square PNGs (or GIFs for animated emotes) and under 1 MB. At 112 pixels a PNG is usually only a few kilobytes, so the limit is rarely a problem.
Check it small. After saving, look at the image at 28 pixels too. If the expression is unclear there, simplify the drawing rather than adding detail. The small sizes are 28×28 and 56×56.
Discord uses 128-pixel emoji — see 128×128. For channel badges and icons, 96×96 is common.

Frequently asked questions
Is 112×112 the same as a Discord emoji?
Close, but Discord recommends 128×128. A 112-pixel image still works there — it is just shown slightly smaller.
What aspect ratio is 112×112?
112×112 has a square (1:1) aspect ratio. Any size with the same ratio — for example 120×120, 100×100 — can be scaled to it without cropping.
How big will a 112×112 image print?
At 300 DPI (photo quality) 112×112 prints at 0.37×0.37 inches (0.9×0.9 cm). At 150 DPI it covers 0.75×0.75 inches, fine for posters seen from further away.
How large is a 112×112 file?
A photo at 112×112 is usually 2 KB–4 KB as a JPG, and about 1 KB–3 KB as WebP. If you need it smaller, run it through the compressor afterwards.
Will my photo lose quality at 112×112?
No — a normal phone photo is much larger, so it is scaled down and stays sharp.
Can I resize to 112×112 without cropping?
Yes. Tick “Keep aspect ratio”: the whole picture is kept, but one side may come out shorter than 112×112. Without it, the image fills 112×112 exactly and the edges that do not fit the 1:1 shape are trimmed.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted or stored, and you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
