Getting the LinkedIn company logo right

The company logo is LinkedIn’s smallest but most repeated brand image — on posts, job ads and every employee’s profile.

▢

Square logo

Keep it centred with a small margin on all sides.

🔎

Shown tiny

Beside posts, jobs and profiles — bold shapes read best.

🖼

PNG for flat logos

Sharper edges and no JPG artefacts around text.

👥

On employee profiles

Every employee’s experience entry shows it.

💾

About 14 KB–28 KB as JPG

A typical photo at 300×300 saves to roughly 14 KB–28 KB at good quality — well within the upload limit.

✂

You choose the crop

Filling 300×300 from a 3:4 phone photo trims about 25% of it. Drag the preview to choose what stays, or tick the fit option to keep everything.

A logo that works at icon size

Square, with padding. LinkedIn shows company logos as squares (with slightly rounded corners in places). Leave a small margin around the logo so it does not touch the edges, and use the logo mark rather than a long wordmark if you have one.

Seen very small. The logo appears beside posts, in job listings and on every employee’s experience section, often at a few dozen pixels. Fine details disappear, bold shapes and strong contrast survive.

PNG keeps edges crisp. For a flat logo, save as PNG. If your logo is on a transparent background, check how it looks on white, as LinkedIn may show it on a light background.

Frequently asked questions

What size is the LinkedIn company logo?

300×300 pixels is the recommended square size. Use PNG for flat logos and leave a little padding around the mark.

Why is my LinkedIn logo cut off?

A wide logo forced into a square loses its ends. Tick the fit option so the whole logo is placed inside the square with padding.

Can the logo have a transparent background?

PNG transparency is accepted, but check it on white — dark logos with transparent backgrounds can disappear in dark mode or on coloured backgrounds.

Is this the same as my personal profile photo?

No, personal profiles use a 400×400 photo shown as a circle. See the profile photo resizer.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted or stored, and you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
