Resize Image to 192×192
192×192 is the icon size every web app manifest should include — Android uses it when someone adds your site to the home screen. This page resizes your logo to exactly that. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Need a smaller file instead? Compress or convert.
Drag the preview to choose which part of the image is kept. The same framing is used for every image in the batch.
Why choose 192×192?
192×192 is a square image of 36,864 pixels (0.04 megapixels) in a square (1:1), mostly used for Android home-screen icons.
1:1 square shape
Every 192×192 image has a square (1:1) ratio, so anything you design for it keeps the same proportions on every screen.
The exact size needed
192×192 is the exact size for Android home-screen icons, so your image is shown as-is instead of being re-scaled or cropped by the platform.
Prints 0.64×0.64 in at 300 DPI
That is 1.6×1.6 cm at photo quality, or 1.3×1.3 in at 150 DPI for posters viewed from a distance.
About 6 KB–12 KB as JPG
Expect around 6 KB–12 KB for a JPG photo at this size. Simple graphics are smaller, PNG photos several times larger.
Sharp results
A 12 MP phone photo has 331× more pixels than 192×192, so resizing down keeps it sharp.
Framing control
Filling 192×192 from a 4:3 phone photo trims about 25% of it. Drag the preview to choose what stays, or tick “Keep aspect ratio” to keep it all.

192×192 in a web app manifest
Progressive web apps list their icons in manifest.json. Chrome
on Android expects at least a 192×192 and a
512×512 PNG; the 192 one appears on the
home screen and in the app switcher.
Maskable icons. Android may crop icons into circles or rounded squares. If you mark an icon as maskable, keep the logo inside the central 80% so the mask never cuts it.
Background. A solid background colour usually looks better than transparency on busy wallpapers.
Also used as the xxxhdpi size of Android's 48dp launcher icon (4× = 192).
Smaller icons in the same family: 144×144, 96×96. Apple equivalent: 180×180.

Frequently asked questions
What icon sizes does a web app manifest need?
At minimum a 192×192 and a 512×512 PNG. Chrome uses them for the home-screen icon and the splash screen.
What aspect ratio is 192×192?
192×192 has a square (1:1) aspect ratio. Any size with the same ratio — for example 200×200, 184×184 — can be scaled to it without cropping.
How big will a 192×192 image print?
At 300 DPI (photo quality) 192×192 prints at 0.64×0.64 inches (1.6×1.6 cm). At 150 DPI it covers 1.28×1.28 inches, fine for posters seen from further away.
How large is a 192×192 file?
A photo at 192×192 is usually 6 KB–12 KB as a JPG, and about 4 KB–8 KB as WebP. If you need it smaller, run it through the compressor afterwards.
Will my photo lose quality at 192×192?
No — a normal phone photo is much larger, so it is scaled down and stays sharp.
Can I resize to 192×192 without cropping?
Yes. Tick “Keep aspect ratio”: the whole picture is kept, but one side may come out shorter than 192×192. Without it, the image fills 192×192 exactly and the edges that do not fit the 1:1 shape are trimmed.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted or stored, and you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
