Instagram Portrait Resizer
The 4:5 portrait is Instagram’s classic tall post and the standard size for carousels. This page resizes your photos to 1080×1350 in one click. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Need a smaller file instead? Compress or convert.
Drag the preview to choose which part of the image is kept. The same framing is used for every image in the batch.
Getting the Instagram portrait post right
The 4:5 portrait has been Instagram’s go-to tall format for years and is still the standard for carousels and cross-posting to Facebook.
Carousel standard
Every slide follows the first one’s shape — keep them all 4:5.
Facebook-ready
4:5 is also Facebook’s tallest uncropped feed image.
Grid crop is small
Only a thin band is trimmed in the 3:4 grid view.
Batch slides
Resize a whole carousel at once and download a ZIP.
About 230 KB–460 KB as JPG
A typical photo at 1080×1350 saves to roughly 230 KB–460 KB at good quality — well within the upload limit.
You choose the crop
Filling 1080×1350 from a 3:4 phone photo trims about 6% of it. Drag the preview to choose what stays, or tick the fit option to keep everything.

The classic tall post
Carousels love 4:5. In a carousel every slide takes the shape of the first one, so designers usually build all slides at 1080×1350. Resize them together here to keep every slide identical.
Works on Facebook too. 4:5 is also the tallest uncropped feed shape on Facebook, so one 1080×1350 image can go to both networks.
On the profile grid a 4:5 post is shown as a 3:4 thumbnail, losing a thin band at the top and bottom. Keep headlines away from the very edges, or use the 3:4 post size if the grid look matters most.

Frequently asked questions
What size is an Instagram portrait post?
1080×1350 pixels, a 4:5 ratio. It is also the usual size for carousel slides.
Is 1080×1350 still a good Instagram size?
Yes. It is shown in full in the feed and remains the standard carousel size. Only the profile grid thumbnail trims it slightly.
Why do my carousel slides have different crops?
Instagram uses the first slide’s shape for all of them. Resize every slide to 1080×1350 first.
Can I post a 4:5 image on Facebook?
Yes — it is the tallest uncropped feed image there too. See the Facebook post resizer.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted or stored, and you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
