Pinterest Pin Resizer

Pinterest recommends a 2:3 shape for pins. This page resizes your image to 1000×1500 so it shows in full in the feed and takes up a good amount of space. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Need a smaller file instead? Compress or convert.

Getting the Pinterest pin right

Pinterest is a visual search engine laid out in columns, and its recommended 2:3 pin takes good space without being cut.

📏

📑

Columns reward height

Taller pins take more space — up to a limit.

📝

Headline at the top

The top two-thirds is always visible, even on phones.

🏷

Subtle branding

A small logo near the bottom survives repins.

💾

About 230 KB–470 KB as JPG

A typical photo at 1000×1500 saves to roughly 230 KB–470 KB at good quality — well within the upload limit.

✂

You choose the crop

Filling 1000×1500 from a 3:4 phone photo trims about 11% of it. Drag the preview to choose what stays, or tick the fit option to keep everything.

Designing a pin that gets saved

2:3 is the sweet spot. Pins are shown in columns, so taller images get more space. 2:3 is tall enough to stand out but is never cut short, unlike very long pins that Pinterest trims in the feed.

Text overlay. Many successful pins combine a photo with a short headline. Use large, high-contrast text in the top two-thirds — that part is always visible, even in narrow columns on phones.

Branding. A small logo or website name near the bottom helps people recognise your pins when they are repinned, without distracting from the image.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best size for a Pinterest pin?

1000×1500 pixels (2:3). It is Pinterest’s recommended pin shape and is shown in full in the feed.

Why are my long pins cut off?

Pinterest trims pins taller than about 1:2.1 in the feed. A 2:3 pin is always shown completely.

Is 1000×1500 better than 735×1102?

Both are 2:3. 1000×1500 gives more detail on large screens and is the size Pinterest itself recommends.

Can I post a square image on Pinterest?

Yes, square pins are fine; see the square pin resizer. They take less height than 2:3 pins.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted or stored, and you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
