You choose the crop

Filling 1080×1350 from a 3:4 phone photo trims about 6% of it. Drag the preview to choose what stays, or tick the fit option to keep everything.

Every Facebook image size

Facebook uses a different shape for almost every place an image appears. These are the sizes to use in 2026 — each name opens a page with that size already set, plus tips for that spot.

Frequently asked questions

What are the main Facebook image sizes?

Profile picture 320×320, cover 851×315, portrait post 1080×1350, square post 1200×1200, link image 1200×630, story 1080×1920, event cover 1920×1005 and group cover 1640×856.

What is the best image size for Facebook posts?

A 4:5 portrait image at 1080×1350 takes the most space on phones. Squares (1080×1080 or 1200×1200) are the safe all-rounder.

Why does Facebook make my photos blurry?

Facebook re-compresses every upload. Images that are already the right size and reasonably light are changed the least, so resizing first helps.

Do Facebook and Instagram use the same sizes?

Posts and stories share sizes (4:5, 1:1, 9:16). Covers, events and groups exist only on Facebook. See resize for Instagram.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted or stored, and you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
