Resize Image to 2048×1152
2048×1152 is 16:9 at 2K width — a high-resolution banner and cover size used where 1920×1080 is not quite enough, including some channel art and large-format web headers. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Need a smaller file instead? Compress or convert.
Drag the preview to choose which part of the image is kept. The same framing is used for every image in the batch.

When 2048×1152 is the right target
2048 is a power of two, which is why it appears in places 1920 does not: texture pipelines, some CMS asset presets and platforms that generate their derivatives by halving. 2048×1152 keeps 16:9 while giving you that clean binary width — it halves to 1024×576 and again to 512×288 exactly.
At 2.36 megapixels it carries about 14% more pixels than Full HD. That is a small visual difference on screen but a real one if the image will be cropped or if the platform downscales aggressively. Where a site asks for it specifically, give it exactly this rather than 1920×1080 and letting the server upscale.
The 16:9 crop cost is the same as always: roughly a quarter of a 4:3 phone photo's height, around 16% from a 3:2 camera photo. At this resolution you also need the pixels to begin with — a 1600-pixel-wide web image stretched to 2048 will look soft, and at banner scale that softness is obvious.
A JPG at this size usually lands between 400KB and 1.5MB. If there is an upload cap, resize here and then use the compressor in target-size mode. For YouTube channel art specifically, use 2560×1440.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between 2048×1152 and 1920×1080?
Both are 16:9; 2048×1152 is about 14% more pixels. The reason to choose it is that 2048 is a power of two, so it halves cleanly to 1024 and 512 — useful in asset pipelines and on platforms that generate their smaller versions by halving.
What aspect ratio is 2048×1152?
2048×1152 has a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. Any size with the same ratio — for example 1920×1080, 1920×1200 — can be scaled to it without cropping.
How big will a 2048×1152 image print?
At 300 DPI (photo quality) 2048×1152 prints at 6.83×3.84 inches (17.3×9.8 cm). At 150 DPI it covers 13.65×7.68 inches, fine for posters seen from further away.
How large is a 2048×1152 file?
A photo at 2048×1152 is usually 370 KB–740 KB as a JPG, and about 260 KB–520 KB as WebP. If you need it smaller, run it through the compressor afterwards.
Will my photo lose quality at 2048×1152?
No — a normal phone photo is much larger, so it is scaled down and stays sharp.
Can I resize to 2048×1152 without cropping?
Yes. Tick “Keep aspect ratio”: the whole picture is kept, but one side may come out shorter than 2048×1152. Without it, the image fills 2048×1152 exactly and the edges that do not fit the 16:9 shape are trimmed.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted or stored, and you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
