Instagram Reels Cover Resizer

A Reels cover has two jobs: fill the 9:16 screen and look good as a 3:4 tile on your profile. This page resizes it to 1080×1920 with the grid crop in mind. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Need a smaller file instead? Compress or convert.

One cover, two crops

Full screen in the Reels tab. The cover is uploaded at the Reel’s own size, 1080×1920, and is shown full-size in places like the Reels tab.

3:4 on your profile grid. On your main grid the same cover is cut to a 3:4 tile, which keeps only the middle 1080×1440 of it — about 240 pixels are lost at the top and at the bottom. Put the title and the face inside that middle area.

Make it readable as a tile. Grid tiles are small. A short title in large type and a clear face or object make your Reels easy to recognise when people browse your profile.

Frequently asked questions

What size is an Instagram Reels cover?

1080×1920 pixels. Your profile grid shows only the middle 3:4 part (1080×1440), so keep the title and subject inside that area.

Why is my Reels cover cropped on my profile?

The profile grid shows a 3:4 tile, which is shorter than 9:16. The top and bottom of the cover are hidden there; keep the important part in the middle.

Can I change the Reels cover after posting?

Yes, Instagram lets you edit the cover of a Reel on your profile grid. Resize the new image to 1080×1920 first.

Should Reels covers have text?

A few large words help people find the Reel on your profile. Keep them inside the middle 3:4 area.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted or stored, and you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
