How to convert to PNG
This page converts any supported image into PNG. PNG is a lossless format, which means every pixel is preserved exactly as it was. It also supports transparency, so it is the usual choice for logos, icons, screenshots and any graphic with sharp edges or text.
- Click the Choose Files button and select any images you want as PNG.
- PNG is already selected. Change it on any individual file if you want a mixed batch.
- Click Convert, then download your PNG files individually or as a ZIP.
Anything into PNG
JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and TIFF can all be turned into PNG here, in a single batch if you like, with no limit on how many files you drop in.
Keep the quality
Adjust quality per file and resize on the way through. Formats without transparency get a clean white matte instead of the black edges most converters leave behind.
Nothing is uploaded
Your files are read and written by your own browser. They are never sent to a server, so there is nothing to delete afterwards and no size or file-count limit.
More image tools
Three separate tools, all running the same way — entirely inside your browser, with nothing uploaded.
The compressor is the one to use when you want a smaller file without changing its format — it can hit an exact target file size, which the converter cannot. The resizer handles exact dimensions and ready-made presets for Instagram and YouTube, including common sizes like 1920×1080 and 1080×1080.
A few things are built into this converter and need no separate tool:
- Compress without converting — pick the same format as your input and lower the quality slider to shrink a file while keeping its type.
- Resize — open the gear on any file and set a maximum width; the height follows automatically.
- Images to PDF — choose PDF as the output to turn a photo or scan into a document.
- Make a favicon — choose ICO as the output to produce a browser icon from any square image.
What is a PNG file?
PNG stands for Portable Network Graphics. PNG is a lossless format, which means every pixel is preserved exactly as it was. It also supports transparency, so it is the usual choice for logos, icons, screenshots and any graphic with sharp edges or text.
Because nothing is thrown away, PNG files of photographs are often several times larger than the same image as JPG or WebP.
Converters by format
Every conversion into a single format, on one page:
When PNG is the right target
PNG is the one format worth converting to almost by default when you are not sure what you need. It is lossless, so nothing is discarded, and it supports full transparency, so logos, icons and graphics with soft edges come through exactly as they were made.
The trade-off is size. PNG compresses well for flat colour and line art — screenshots, logos, diagrams — but poorly for photographs, where it can run several times larger than an equivalent JPG or WebP with no visible gain. Use PNG for anything that needs to stay editable or needs transparency; use WebP or JPG for photos.

Frequently asked questions
What can I convert to PNG?
JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and TIFF can all be converted to PNG on this page. Drop in a mixed batch and they will all come out as PNG.
Is there a limit on file size or how many files I can convert?
No. Conversion runs inside your browser rather than on a server, so there is no upload, no queue and no cap.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Your files are read and written by your own browser and never leave your device. You can disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded and the converter will still work.
