How to convert to TIFF

This page converts any supported image into TIFF. TIFF is the standard in printing, publishing and archiving. It is lossless, supports very high bit depths, and can carry multiple pages in a single file.

  1. Click the Choose Files button and select any images you want as TIFF.
  2. TIFF is already selected. Change it on any individual file if you want a mixed batch.
  3. Click Convert, then download your TIFF files individually or as a ZIP.

Anything into TIFF

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and TIFF can all be turned into TIFF here, in a single batch if you like, with no limit on how many files you drop in.

◉

Keep the quality

Adjust quality per file and resize on the way through. Formats without transparency get a clean white matte instead of the black edges most converters leave behind.

🔒

Nothing is uploaded

Your files are read and written by your own browser. They are never sent to a server, so there is nothing to delete afterwards and no size or file-count limit.

More image tools

Three separate tools, all running the same way — entirely inside your browser, with nothing uploaded.

The compressor is the one to use when you want a smaller file without changing its format — it can hit an exact target file size, which the converter cannot. The resizer handles exact dimensions and ready-made presets for Instagram and YouTube, including common sizes like 1920×1080 and 1080×1080.

A few things are built into this converter and need no separate tool:

  1. Compress without converting — pick the same format as your input and lower the quality slider to shrink a file while keeping its type.
  2. Resize — open the gear on any file and set a maximum width; the height follows automatically.
  3. Images to PDF — choose PDF as the output to turn a photo or scan into a document.
  4. Make a favicon — choose ICO as the output to produce a browser icon from any square image.
What is a TIFF file?

TIFF stands for Tagged Image File Format. TIFF is the standard in printing, publishing and archiving. It is lossless, supports very high bit depths, and can carry multiple pages in a single file.

Browsers cannot display TIFF, and the files are large, so it is unsuitable for the web.

TIFF: built for print, not for the web

TIFF persists because print production, professional scanning, geospatial software and medical imaging all standardised on it decades ago and have had no reason to move since. If a printer, publisher, or records system has specifically asked for a TIFF, this page produces one.

One limitation worth knowing: TIFF can store CMYK colour, the model commercial printing uses, but browsers work only in RGB. This tool always writes an RGB TIFF, correct for archival and general use but not a substitute for colour-managed prepress software if a print shop has specifically requested CMYK.

Frequently asked questions

What can I convert to TIFF?

JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and TIFF can all be converted to TIFF on this page. Drop in a mixed batch and they will all come out as TIFF.

Is there a limit on file size or how many files I can convert?

No. Conversion runs inside your browser rather than on a server, so there is no upload, no queue and no cap.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Your files are read and written by your own browser and never leave your device. You can disconnect from the internet once the page has loaded and the converter will still work.
