Instagram Grid Maker
Turn one big picture into a striking profile grid or a seamless swipe-through carousel. Pick the layout, drag to frame it, and download every piece numbered in the order to post. Your image never leaves your browser. For single posts, use the Instagram resizer.
Drag the preview to choose which part of the picture is used.
Why use a grid maker?
A split image turns your profile into one large picture and makes a launch, a portfolio or an announcement impossible to miss.
- Choose one large image, or drop it onto the box.
- Pick Profile grid or Seamless carousel, the number of rows or slides and the post shape; drag and zoom to frame it.
- Click Split image, download the ZIP, and post the pieces in numbered order.
3 to 18 posts
Rows of three, from a single 3-post banner to a full 6-row mural.
Seamless carousels
Split a panorama into 2–10 slides that flow into each other as people swipe.
Current post shapes
4:5 portrait, the 3:4 profile-grid shape and classic 1:1 squares, all at 1080 px wide.
Numbered posting order
Files are named post-01, post-02… in the order to upload, so the grid assembles correctly.
Drag to frame
Move and zoom the picture behind the grid until the important part sits where you want it.
Stays on your device
The image is cut up in your browser and never uploaded.
Posting a grid so it lines up
Instagram shows the newest post first, in the top-left corner of your profile. So a grid has to be posted backwards: the bottom-right piece goes up first and the top-left piece last. The numbers on the preview, and the file names in the ZIP, follow exactly that order — just upload post-01, then post-02, and so on.
Post the pieces one after another without anything in between. Posting another photo midway shifts every square by one place and breaks the picture. If you post often, a 1-row (3-post) banner is the easiest to keep intact.
Shapes: the profile grid now crops thumbnails to a 3:4 shape, while feed posts can be up to 4:5. Choose 3:4 if the profile view matters most, 4:5 if you care more about how each post looks in the feed, or 1:1 for the classic square look.
A seamless carousel is different: all slides go into one post, in left-to-right order. People swipe through a wide panorama, and each slide hands over smoothly to the next. Use a picture at least as wide as the number of slides times 1080 pixels for the sharpest result.
Frequently asked questions
In what order do I post the grid pieces?
Post post-01 first and the highest number last. Post-01 is the bottom-right piece, because Instagram puts the newest post in the top-left corner.
Which size is best for an Instagram grid?
1080×1350 (4:5) fills the most space in the feed; 1080×1440 (3:4) matches the profile grid crop. Both look sharp.
What is a seamless carousel?
One post with several slides that together form a single wide picture, so swiping feels like panning across a panorama.
How large should my image be?
For a 3-wide grid, at least 3240 pixels wide. For a 5-slide carousel, at least 5400 pixels wide. Smaller images still work but look softer.
Can I use it for Facebook or LinkedIn?
The pieces are standard 1080-pixel images, so they upload anywhere; the grid effect itself is specific to Instagram profiles.
Is my image uploaded?
No. It is split in your browser and the ZIP is created on your device.
