Resize Image to 600×900
600×900 is 2:3 portrait — the shape Pinterest recommends for pins, and the proportion of classic posters and many book covers. It is the vertical version of a camera photo. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded. Need a smaller file instead? Compress or convert.
Drag the preview to choose which part of the image is kept. The same framing is used for every image in the batch.
Why choose 600×900?
600×900 is a portrait image of 540,000 pixels (0.54 megapixels) in a portrait 2:3, mostly used for portrait photos, posters and mobile screens.
2:3 portrait shape
Every 600×900 image has a portrait 2:3 ratio, so anything you design for it keeps the same proportions on every screen.
Where it is used
600×900 suits portrait photos, posters and mobile screens. Using the exact size avoids a website scaling or cropping your image on its own.
Prints 2×3 in at 300 DPI
That is 5.1×7.6 cm at photo quality, or 4×6 in at 150 DPI for posters viewed from a distance.
About 84 KB–170 KB as JPG
Expect around 84 KB–170 KB for a JPG photo at this size. Simple graphics are smaller, PNG photos several times larger.
Sharp results
A 12 MP phone photo has 23× more pixels than 600×900, so resizing down keeps it sharp.
Framing control
Filling 600×900 from a 3:4 phone photo trims about 11% of it. Drag the preview to choose what stays, or tick “Keep aspect ratio” to keep it all.

Using the 2:3 portrait shape
Pinterest pins. Pinterest recommends a 2:3 ratio for standard pins. Its commonly cited size is 1000×1500; 600×900 is the same shape at a lighter file size, which works fine for blog-embedded pin images. For the sharpest result on Pinterest itself, go larger.
Book covers and posters. Many poster and e-book cover templates are around 2:3. 600×900 is a good preview or thumbnail size; for the actual cover file, check your store's minimum, as they often require far more pixels.
From a camera. Vertical camera photos are 2:3 and resize straight in. Vertical phone photos are 3:4 and need a small strip trimmed from the sides — use the cropper at 2:3 first.
Text-heavy pins. Keep headlines large enough to read at the narrow width pins appear in feeds, and keep them in the upper two thirds.
Compress. A 600×900 JPG is usually 60–150 KB. Use Compress JPG for a lighter page.
Same ratio: 400×600 and the landscape 600×400. Poster sizes: 24×36.

Frequently asked questions
What size should a Pinterest pin be?
Pinterest recommends a 2:3 ratio, commonly 1000×1500 pixels. 600×900 has the same shape and displays the same way, just at lower resolution — fine for pin images embedded in blog posts.
What aspect ratio is 600×900?
600×900 has a portrait 2:3 aspect ratio. Images with a different shape have to be cropped or padded to fit it.
How big will a 600×900 image print?
At 300 DPI (photo quality) 600×900 prints at 2×3 inches (5.1×7.6 cm). At 150 DPI it covers 4×6 inches, fine for posters seen from further away.
How large is a 600×900 file?
A photo at 600×900 is usually 84 KB–170 KB as a JPG, and about 59 KB–120 KB as WebP. If you need it smaller, run it through the compressor afterwards.
Will my photo lose quality at 600×900?
No — a normal phone photo is much larger, so it is scaled down and stays sharp.
Can I resize to 600×900 without cropping?
Yes. Tick “Keep aspect ratio”: the whole picture is kept, but one side may come out shorter than 600×900. Without it, the image fills 600×900 exactly and the edges that do not fit the 2:3 shape are trimmed.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted or stored, and you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.
