Listing photos that pass Etsy’s checks
Etsy’s own advice. Etsy recommends photos of at least 2000 pixels in width and height, and says the first photo should be landscape or square. At 3000×2250 both sides are over 2000, so buyers can zoom in on details.
Leave a border. Etsy crops the first photo into thumbnails of different shapes in search, shop and on mobile. Keep a little space around the product so no crop cuts into it.
Keep files light. Etsy warns that images over about 1 MB may not finish uploading on slower connections. A 3000×2250 JPG usually lands around that — if not, use compress to 1 MB.
